The government of the province, through the Foreign Trade Undersecretariat of the Ministry of Production, participated in the Nampo Harvest Day Fair, which took place in Bothaville, North of South Africa.

It is one of the most important agro-industrial fairs in the world and a key meeting for the region, since it is considered the gateway to the continent. Has it been done since 1974 and has received more than 70,000 visitors from different parts of the world.
The Provincial Foreign Trade Undersecretary, Carlos Braga, who participated in the event, commented that the province accompanied six companies of agricultural machinery from Santa Fe".

The Foreign Ministry, the National Agency, and the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) also participated in the activity. “Santa Fe is only province which accompanied its delegation with officials”, stressed Braga.

In addition, the Undersecretary explained: "Santa Fe has the highest participation in exports of agricultural machinery to South Africa, so the goal was to accompany the group and provide support to local entrepreneurs".

The official also stressed the importance of a deal signed between INTA, the Argentine Chamber of Agricultural Machinery, the Agricultural Machinery Cluster (with its epicenter in Santa Fe) and a South African Cooperative, as it will allow continuing working in technology transfer of direct sowing".

"The province signed an annex to that Agreement, in which institutionally supports the project that has been being consolidated from 2011 and that Santa Fe has an importance and strategic interest," he concluded.

The Member of the Santa Fe Global Agency, Bernardo Piazzardi; and the Argentine Ambassador to South Africa, Javier Esteban Figueroa, also took part in the commercial mission.

ARGENTINE PRESENCE
The Argentine Pavilion was mounted on 1300 square meters and included a two-story building. The institutional space shared by the Argentine delegation was installed on the ground floor and the business meetings were held on the first floor.

The Argentine offer arouses great interest in this market, since it is not only agricultural machinery, but the know-how that characterizes local agriculture on key issues such as direct sowing and precision agriculture.

For example, there was an on field demonstration of direct sowing and an exhibition of the Argentine technological package to South African producers o increase the sale of machinery. The machinery manufactured in Santa Fe worked there to strengthen the export project.
