Governor Miguel Lifschitz, together with officials of the provincial administration, participated in the second edition of the Congress on Green Economy, organized by the Advanced Leadership Foundation, which had the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, as one of its main speakers.

"This is a meeting of great international relevance. I personally congratulated the governor of Córdoba, Juan Schiaretti, because of the importance of the presence of Obama and the issue that was addressed in relation to Alternative Energies and Climate Change," explained Lifschitz.

"It was good to greet the former President of the United States and to celebrate that Argentina was the country chosen to give one of his first conferences, after completing his second term in front of the White House. " "In this context, I conveyed my invitation for next year, to Michelle Obama to visit the province and deliver a lecture."

Along with Schiaretti, Lifschitz was the only governor in the country to participate in the Congress.

"There are many countries and many provinces, like Santa Fe, which work with initiatives in relation to climate change. Someone said Argentina is a little behind schedule and what needs to be done is to make up for lost time, because the world is clearly moving in that direction," the governor explained.

"For example, our energy State Secretariat is strongly concerned with enhancing renewable energies. We have recently created a public company to develop renewable energy projects and we have some laws that promote them, so that the private sector and the residential consumers themselves can produce their own energy," he pointed out.

The objective of the meeting was the formation of 300 leaders of opinion in green economy and sustainable development, for which the specialists and referents of the sector were summoned.
