This Thursday ended a technical mission of the Ministry of production in the Lombardy region, Italy, which aimed to link Santa Fe SMEs with their Italian peers to get knowledge and position worldwide.

The initiative was achieved by the Secretariat of Industry, through Emiliano Pietropaolo, who, accompanied by Santa Fe businessmen from poultry and metalworking sectors, visited productive sites dedicated to these activities, incorporating value adding processes and corporativism.

Pietropaolo said that they could learn about "Italian Associativism and the Association of Lombardy in northern Italy. There the SMEs managed to be linked to compete with large companies in a very interesting model to practice in Santa Fe.

"We are also interested in the level of modernization they have achieved in adding value, from which they can supply both the internal and external markets," added the official.

The mission also included commercial agreements with the Lombardy regional government. "We project some agreements to concretize imports and exports of food and machinery, with the aim of reaching a trade agreement between the province of Santa Fe and the Lombardy region", detailed Pietropaolo.

The activity was coordinated jointly by the provincial productive portfolio and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Rosario and counted with the participation, from the poultry sector, of the companies Friar S.A., Granjas Carnave S.A., Criar S.R.L., Union Agricola de Avellaneda Cooperativa Limitada, Sánchez and Sánchez SRL and the Poultry Chamber of Santa Fe; and from the metalworking sector, Zanini S.A., Acepla S.A., Giorgi S.A., D'Ascanio S.R.L., ERCA S.A. and the Fundación Cideter.
