Santa Fe delves into commercial and productive links with Mozambique

The Minister of Production and the President of the Agency Santa Fe Global analyzed possibilities of exchange and complementation with the Argentine Ambassador in that African country.

The Minister of production, Alicia Ciciliani, he held a meeting with the Argentinian Ambassador in Mozambique, Federico Villegas, for projecting commercial and productive links between the province of Santa Fe and the African country. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Rosario node and was attended by the president of Santa Fe Global, Carlos Braga, agency that carries out the projects of investment and foreign trade of the Ministry of Production.

In this context, Villegas explained that "Mozambique is a peculiar country, which has the same number of arable areas as the Argentine Republic, but only uses 15%. It is waiting for the Argentinean technological package for an agricultural transformation that will allow it to manufacture food. "Then, he added: "Santa Fe has a very important know-how and agricultural production potential. We are soon to create the bilateral business Chamber Mozambican-Argentina and surely there will be companies from Santa Fe taking part ".

On his part, Braga valued that when the ambassador opened the first Argentine embassy in Mozambique, the first thing he did was come to see Santa Fe.  He understands that there is institutional work and productive potential. This is good, we are on the map of those who understand and are in the territory.

When asked about the projects addressed at this meeting, the undersecretary of foreign trade pointed out, "There is a direct sowing project with Argentinean technology associated with INTA's technical assistance to improve productivity in these fields. There are also dairy and grain milling projects for cookies production. We will work these three lines of action and promote some from Santa Fe products like cheeses and honeys, which have to do with traditional export. "

Finally, the minister Ciciliani was optimistic after this meeting: "We have a great opportunity in our local production, we have great knowledge in production of Agrifood and we also have an industry that has a technological package and markets like the African we have to start looking."

"We must pay close attention to Latin America and its integration with the African continent. There are opportunities for Argentine businessmen and from the Ministry of production we will accompany our producers so that they can produce and sell, not only food, but also technology and machinery for the manufacture of foodstuffs in that country."
