PEROTTI: "WE WILL NOT REST UNTIL WE ENSURE THAT ALL THE SANTAFESINOS HAVE ACCESS TO QUALITY AND ACCESSIBLE INTERNET CONNECTION"

This was asserted by the governor during the opening of the 138th regular session of the provincial Legislature.

PEROTTI: "WE WILL NOT REST UNTIL WE ENSURE THAT ALL THE SANTAFESINOS HAVE ACCESS TO QUALITY AND ACCESSIBLE INTERNET CONNECTION".

Excerpts from the governor’s speech about connectivity:

"The pandemic put issues that at least from politics and as a society we have not yet resolved on the table. However, the deficit marks a future work agenda, and one of them is connectivity. Connectivity is the most alarming deficit we have to reverse in the short term."

“Currently 30.5% of the provincial households do not have internet connection and only 18.9% have a good one. What concerns us more is that only 28%, i.e. 793 public schools, have Internet connection for pedagogical use. This is an Internet that allows you to watch videos, have several actors interacting. This means that more than half of the students in Santa Fe (383,954) do not have access to digital tools in the classroom".

"This reality alarms us and is unsustainable in the 21st century. We can't let our girls and boys stop learning. The future will be connected, but only 205,000 households in Santa Fe out of almost 1,100,000 in the province have good quality Internet. 334,000 do not have fixed Internet access."

"Everything we imagine: teleworking, the sale of digital channels, modernizing the State with remote digital procedures, video security, cell phones, electric power meters, simplifications of procedures, monitoring of management indicators of municipalities and communes, and distance education, they are all unfeasible without quality connectivity".

"Connectivity is a basic right. That's why we're not going to rest until we ensure that all the citizens can have access to quality and accessible connection. We are going to promote a project to expand quality broadband coverage for our province."

"We will call on universities, service companies, technology analysts, entrepreneurs, and among all these actors we will form a council for improving connectivity."

"It's a collaborative stage. Santa Fe needs everyone’s collaboration so that in the shortest possible time we can give the Santafesinos quality connectivity. We need to be helped by ideas on how to connect the province in the shortest time possible."

"The choices we make now will be decisive for our future. The digital world is a necessity. Anyone who is not on the virtual circuit is clearly in danger of being left out of the game. Just as companies cannot use an old map to discover a new world, neither can the state."

"The pandemic showed that internet connectivity is just as important as roadworks and transport logistics."

"With connectivity, power energy and knowledge-based services we will lay the foundations of Santa Fe in the 21st century. Connectivity, having the possibility to be the center of the knowledge economy, and with the traditional thrust of our agri-food sector, Santa Fe clearly has the possibility of immediate future development."
