For the first time the city of Santa Fe is the venue for the celebration, based on the law that promoted the current governor.

On Friday, the governor of the province, Omar Perotti, commemorated the Day of the Argentine National Constitution at the Constitution Museum, located in the provincial capital. He was joined at the meeting by Deputy Governor Alejandra Rodenas, Santa Fe Mayor Emilio Jatón and Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Miguel Lifschitz.

It is the first time that the city is the venue for the commemoration of May 1 as the day of the National Constitution. This occurred after Law No. 27,256 was passed in the Congress of the Nation, an initiative of the current governor, Omar Perotti.

During the ceremony, the governor of the province, Omar Perotti emphasized: "This remarkable historic fact that today takes place in the capital city, mobilized the country at that time and meant the generation of our Nation, was something that Santafesinos were aware of and needed to be recognized".

"I think it was very important to build this Constitution Museum, the idea of revitalizing this area, of giving it a content, undoubtedly the law draws its strength with the start-up of the construction of the museum, and in that sense, Miguel Lifschitz and José Corral made great efforts because it had to be done, authorities that at the time were important to manage the resources , and those resources were there," the Governor said.

Finally, Perotti stated: "Gustavo managed to convey to us all enthusiasm, motivated us all, he transmitted that this had to grow, take shape, become the museum, we thought it was important to highlight that day that is covered by the importance of the Labour Day could be given a different visibility".

On his part, mayor Emilio Jatón said: "We are proud to be the cradle of the Argentine Constitution, to have participated in the history of Argentina and we are proud of this park here in Santa Fe, because we are making the first national commemoration of the Constitution. In addition, we are making history today, with the necessary precautions, without being able to celebrate and without being able to embrace, but from today, thanks to a Law promoted by then Senator Omar Perotti, Santa Fe has the Constitution Day and we continue to reaffirm the union that Santa Fe has, because of the Magna Carta".
