The Ministry of Education of the province provided that from 27 to 31 July the schools were open to disinfect, clean and corroborate that the facilities had the necessary conditions for the return to classes progressively, following the protocols for Covid-19.

In this context the Secretary of Educational Territorial Management, Rosario Cristiani, visited the school No. 1109 "Hipólito Yrigoyen", located on Av.12 de Octubre 9300 of the city of Santa Fe.

"It is very important to confirm that the school is up and running; the issue of water is important for what's coming, for protocols. We all know that the protocol is based on very strict hygiene standards, on the permanent hand washing of students, so we are verifying, together with the Safe Schools Operative, who are the professionals who have toured the establishment," she said.

Cristiani argued, "We are seeing what the gaps are, the school is in very good condition anyway, we see a lot of commitment from its managers and school agents".

As for the tasks that are performed, the official explained: "This week they will work on disinfection, ventilation, cleaning, checking the water tanks to see if the water supply is correct. The next two weeks they will work on the analysis and study of protocols with the entire educational community."

BACK TO SCHOOL

As for the return to classes, Cristiani said: "Circular No. 14 says classes should be virtual while it is possible to avoid crowding people in large schools. If there is no possibility of connectivity, if meetings of up to 10 people can be held, the protocols are going to be applied and we will start thinking about how the school can organize its spaces", but clarified that this is "in the future, when the Ministry of Health determines the beginning of the school cycle, the return to the face-to-face mode".

"We don't have a start date yet, we want to say it because, as we always say, that's an epidemiological, health and non-pedagogical decision. But we are going to prepare all the spaces and schools, and we are all going to be ready, the Education System, to receive students in the best way," ended the Secretary of Educational Territorial Management, Rosario Cristiani.

STUDENT ACCOMPANIMENT

The School "Hipólito Yrigoyen" Principal, Monica Polini, referred to the accompaniment of the students during the quarantine: "Our students are from Loyola Norte and Sur, Yapeyú, La Ranita I and II, El Abasto, some of San Augustin, and this year we added the Jesuit quarter, basically 100 percent of connectivity is via WhatsApp, all virtual teaching, the bond we have with the students is through this media."

While she stated, "It is a difficult environment because sometimes connectivity is not good and up to three little siblings have only one cell phone, it is the teacher-student link that has to be maintained. Even during the winter holidays, the kids sent messages although we said goodbye for two weeks."

CLASSROOMS AND PROTOCOLS

With regard to classrooms and protocols to follow, Polini stated: "We have been told that we have to make some changes, prepare for what is coming, and we are looking forward to knowing how our children will return. We are also doing a virtual job for our teachers because they are also anxious, they want to know how we are going to come back, if we are all going to come back, in what situation, with what protocol."

"We must approach teaching from another angle, perhaps recreational are going to be different. We're all thinking about how. Obviously, we have to wait for directives, but I'm sure we're ready," said the School Principal"
