A delegation of the province of Santa Fe is in China as part of the committee from the Central Region (Santa Fe, Cordoba and Entre Rios) who visits the Eastern country, in a mission organized by the CFI to accompany a group of entrepreneurs in search of trade.
In this context, there was a meeting for the strengthening of the trade relations between Argentina and that Asian country. The opportunity was conducive to small and medium-sized enterprises to reach this market.
In the meeting, which was held at the stand of Argentina, were present the Vice-Governor of Santa Fe, Carlos Fascendini; the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, Carlos Braga; the Argentine Ambassador in Beijing, Diego Ramiro Guelar; the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation, Ricardo Negri; and the head of Senasa, Jorge Dillon.
"We have heard of great interest with the authorities and Chinese entrepreneurs for Argentine products in a country that is growing at a very significant pace, 6 or 7% annually, improving the quality of life and consumption, resulting in a permanent demand for quality products, which Argentina is in perfect condition of providing" , Fascendini said.
According to this panorama, the Vice-Governor said, "There is a support of the Embassy and the national Government to see small and medium-sized enterprises reach this market. Their supermarkets sell products from other countries which we also produce and are much more expensive".
"This is an extraordinary opportunity for our businesses," said the official. At the same time, he expressed, "We want to accompany the small and medium-sized enterprises so that they have technological innovation, advance and can open their minds not only for the domestic market of Argentina but also for foreign trade and here we are making it possible.
PRODUCTS WITH POTENTIAL
In turn, Braga said, "We have been negotiating with the Ministry of Agriculture of China to liberalize some products with great potential, that opens a huge panorama".
The official explained that there is an opportunity to enter products such as meat, citrus, blueberries, honey, among others and that, with Ambassador Guelar, they addressed the need for having a stand in the free zone in the short term, the free trade zone in Shanghai, similar to the one in Chile. The space has been confirmed but must be "given all the forms, services, financing and customs for its consolidation," said Braga.
"There is an important intention from China to bring more Argentine products. The prospects are very good, and as province and Central Region, we have to support the companies so that they can be integrated into this market with their full potential", ended the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade.
