The Secretariat of Internal Trade and Services of the Ministry of Production, Science and Technology, announced on Tuesday a new stage of the Santafesinos Prices program, an initiative that seeks to provide reference prices for basic necessities.
During the presentation, the Secretary of Internal Trade and Services, Juan Marcos Aviano stressed that "today we begin this new stage that includes 121 products. Six more articles were added compared to the previous period; and they are from Santa Fe companies."
"The program involves 155 outlets in 50 locations in the province, and the average variation of items with respect to the previous stage is 10%, since we organized a list of prices based on this new context, knowing that the Nation authorized some increases. We are working with the chambers of wholesale and retail supermarkets, as well as with suppliers and companies throughout the province to begin to strengthen the Santafesinos Prices program by adding more and more products made in the province," the official added.
Likewise, Aviano stressed that "the instructions of Minister Costamagna and Governor Perotti are to incorporate more and more production and value chains from Santa Fe and that the local supermarket, which today also has consumer incentive programs such as Billetera Santa Fe, visualizes in Precios Santafesinos the possibility of channeling the sale of items made in the province. In this way, we want to accentuate more the santafesino character, to be able to identify and work with regional producers and with Santa Fe SMEs, and the new cycle that starts bets on that".
Regarding the pace of prices and the general supply of products from the family basket, the official said that "it is a task that we develop throughout the year, we did more than 1,600 inspection actions both in the main cities of the province and in the interior, after last year the governor delegated powers to control the supplies to municipalities and communes law" , the secretary of internal trade concluded.
It should be noted that the program does not imply the cheapest price in the market, but provides a reference and the possibility of choosing the brand with which to fulfill a price list that generates a reference for the consumer, being the main objective of the program.
For her part, the provincial director of Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection, Betania Albretch, said that "the role of the consumer is very important in a transversal and collaborative way since this is a program that benefits both parties. As with Wallet Santa Fe, it accompanies both the commercial sector that was harmed by the pandemic, and the pockets of consumers."
"It is a collaborative work, the stage of maximum prices ended and now it is another type of work done together with the aim of improving the situation for everyone," he concluded.
In turn, the manager of the Chamber of Supermarkets, Gabriel Silva said that Precios Santafesinos "is an important tool with which we have been working; and we are confident that in the north-central it can expand." Meanwhile, he said that "from the camera we have a task that we have been doing. There is interest from supermarkets and in particular we group more in number to self-service and small super, which logically sometimes is more difficult to reach".
