The Governor of the province, Antonio Bonfatti, presided over the ceremony in honour of 99 educational references in Santa Fe pedagogical tradition, those who were honoured on the occasion of the Teacher’s Day. In addition, 9 of them were incorporated to the Camino de la Educación Santafesina (Santa Fe Educational Path)The ceremony was held at ATE Theatre- Spain House, in the city of Santa Fe, and also featured Vice Governor Jorge Henn; the Ministers of Education, Claudia Balagué; Government and State Reform, Rubén Galassi; and of Innovation and Culture, Maria de los Angeles González; and the member of the national parliament, Hermes Binner, among others.
"One more year, this is the third in which we have paid tribute to Santa Fe teachers. Recognition from their peers but, ultimately, to whom we pay tribute today are representing all the educators", said the Governor during the meeting, "an act which has a deep symbolic content, because with it, we are here to tell society what education means".
Subsequently Bonfatti mentioned "the difficult moments that humanity has lived through moments of crisis, of misunderstandings, of rupture of ties." These are times in which the family is more important, and the first rebound can be seen at school", and added, "If we can prioritize education as a supreme value, we believe that we will soon recover what we have lost; this is the aim of this act."
Finally, the governor thanked the honorees for everything they have done and still do, because even when retired, they continue being an example. And he added that Santa Fe schools together with La Pampa and Río Negro have the best education in Argentina. He said that is a product of having ideas and projects but, fundamentally, due to the educators, 60 thousand teachers in the province of Santa Fe.
NOTHING CAN BE DONE WITHOUT TEACHERS
In turn, Balague highlighted the work of teachers in educating in "a complex and globalized world in which we sometimes feel that it overwhelms the classroom", but she added: "There are things that cannot be changed. This is what teachers can do in the classroom."
In this regard the Minister said, "Today, being a teacher in front of the students is also different", and recalled that "during this administration we have settled the permanent formation, in their own schools to every teacher in Santa Fe. Different proposals that also help develop our teachers and that can be transmitted to others, transforming the classrooms in Santa Fe. New technologies, new kindergartens, new expanded schedule in primary schools, many new high schools with different plans of studies, and many more fields of study in our provincial Fe territory".
The head of education also reviewed other achievements, as "more than 8 thousand students who have returned to school in these last three years, more than 130 thousand participate in the Santa Fe Olympics, more than 20 thousand are in the extended schedule in elementary school; There are schools for kids who are sick, secondary schools in rural life, a network of schools for Children’s Orchestras in the province", and stated that" there is something that should not be changed and that does not change: nothing can be done without teachers ".
A CAREER THAT BECOMES A SYMBOL
The 99 feted teachers were nominated by the schools and recognized by provincial authorities on behalf of the province. They were selected from a call of the Ministry of Education to all the schools in the province, from where the proposals were collected. They were about teachers whose careers have become symbols in the community and in pedagogical references in the provincial and even national levels.
Among them, were chosen 9 new references that will enter the Camino de la Educación Santafesina, an initiative that have taken place for third consecutive year as a tribute to the teachers in the province and with the aim of spreading the legacy left in the educational community. The teachers are:
OSCAR GILLIARD: a teacher who worked in various locations in the province, worked to bring children to school. With his attitude he joined the activities of the region with the work in class. He has been an example for students and families.
The primary school No. 680 "Libertador General San Martín" in Tostado is joining the Camino de la Educación Santafesina in September 2015.
NOELIA ESCOBAR: as a supervisor, he encouraged the formation of networks among rural leaders, who began to plan school activities together, promoting, in addition to specific learning contents, the socialization and integration of students and families.
The primary school No. 1128 "Mariano Moreno" in La Sarita is joining the Camino de la Educación Santafesina in September 2015.
LIANA FRIEDRICH: A teacher and writer, promoted the creation of the secondary school and the camp in Sarmiento, from where they combine learning, doing and living. As Head teacher and Supervisor, she stimulated the continuous training of teachers, and fostered a school's doors open.
The secondary school N ° 357 "Alberto Francezón" in Sarmiento is joining the Camino de la Educación Santafesina in September 2015.
JUAN CARLOS DÁVILA: A teacher, head teacher and supervisor of elementary schools, taught for 40 years. With extensive trade union experience, he also joined the Commission which drew up the School Digest. He was President of the Provincial Board of the National Campaign for Literacy and Adult Education. He is also a musician and a writer.
The Primary Schools No. 6 "Dr. Mariano Moreno" Santa Fe is joining the Camino de la Educación Santafesina in September 2015.
JOSÉ FRANCISCO FERNÁNDEZ ("TATO GARABATO"): A teacher, musician, and luthier. Besides the numerous traditional instruments, he transmitted his passion for music and teaching. Some instruments were made from recycled material. As a retired teacher, he developed from a FM radio set up in his house, a project of radial literature that went beyond the school walls.
The primary school N ° 1249 "General Martín Miguel de Güemes" in Cañada de Gómez is joining the Camino de la Educación Santafesina in September 2015.
EDGARDO MONTALDO: A Salesian priest, teacher, promoter of the elementary and secondary education of children and adolescents in Ludueña quarter in Rosario. He promoted the setting up of primary and secondary schools, he integrated to a network of sites of defense and promotion of the rights of children and young people. He has been a pioneer of neighborhood orchestras as a strategy for social inclusion.
The Private Primary School No.1027 "Luisa M. de Olguin" in Rosario is joining the Camino de la Educación Santafesina in September 2015.
MARÍA ROSA MONTES: She began as a rural teacher, and reached the supervisory function. Her work transcended the school environment and joined classes in literature, music and folk dance. She joined the innovative team that promoted the Undergraduate Schools Programme and the permanent teacher training.
The primary school N ° 177 "Esteban Echeverría" in Teodelina is joining the Camino de la Educación Santafesina in September 2015.
JOSE de SAN MARTIN GOROSITO: a teacher who promoted the creation of the secondary level when there was only primary level in the city. He was also one of the first professors in higher education. He promoted the teaching of chess in school and recreational institutions.

MARTA ZINGER de EIDELMAN: a teacher and a communicator, advocate for the cultural and natural heritage. She promoted educational methods, outstanding for her time. Tenacious collaborator in all socio-cultural and educational institutions, keeps alive the flame to transmit the rich history of Moisés Ville, the first Jewish colony in the country.
The School of Technical – Professional Education N ° 274 "Soldados Argentinos" in Moisés Ville is joining the Camino de la Educación Santafesina in September 2015.
