Security: Perotti has met with leaders from business, union, social, academic and religious sectors

"The objective is to listen, gather information, and tell them what our projects are in the short and medium term," explained Minister Corach

Governor Omar Perotti and the Ministers of Public Management, Marcos Corach, and Security, Jorge Lagna, met in Rosario with members of the Economic and Social Council, and social and workers' organizations, with the aim of receiving initiatives and proposals for addressing citizen security, and listing governmental policies.

"The objective was to listen, to gather information, and to tell them what our projects are in the short and medium term as regards security," Corach explained, and highlighted "the disposition from all sectors."

Meanwhile, Lagna indicated that it was a "very positive" meeting, where "the civil society was heard and important proposals emerged to continue working, while we explain that we understand security as a multi-agency work that exceeds the police forces and has multiple causes."

"We agree on the diagnoses, on the way to address it, and on the need that, together, as we are emerging from the pandemic, and that was a sample of joint work between the government and civil society, the same thing happens with security," said the head of that portfolio.

CONTRIBUTION FROM CIVIL SOCIETY

The president of Rosario Stock Exchange, Miguel Simioni, stressed, “We appreciated the meeting a lot; this call is very important given the situation that is being experienced, not only in Rosario but in the province. We are available for whatever the governor considers necessary, because we are convinced that it is time to call on the whole community, the private and public sector, to be together, because it is an intricate situation."

Mónica Alesso, from the Inter-American Open University, remarked that "it is a good opportunity to visualize and accompany the population. We believe it is extremely important that private institutions are involved in these decisions. For us it is essential to accompany and be part of this group that will collaborate".

Meanwhile, a local priest, Fabián Belay, highlighted the significance of the meeting "because it generates hope, and the desire of the whole society to join forces to move forward. It is a very complex issue, but our society deserves that we make the effort so that children and adolescents have a better future."

The meetings were also attended by the Minister of Social Development, Danilo Capitani; the Secretary of Justice, Gabriel Somaglia; the Secretary of Strategic Affairs, Mariana Foglia; and Santa Fe Police Chief Emilce Chimenti, among others.
