Santa Fe Global, the provincial program to boost exports

The Minister of Productive, Gustavo Puccini, and the Secretary of Foreign Trade, Georgina Losada, gave details of the initiative that was re-launched in Rosario. There are 750 exporting companies in the province, and the idea is to multiply them.

The Santa Fe Global Agency is the synthetic denomination of the Santa Fe Investment and International Trade Agency (Asici), which is mainly responsible for promoting investments and exports in the province, facilitating productive investment projects and encouraging SMEs to go out into the world.

Through this tool, the provincial government contributes to the local and international positioning of Santa Fe in a sustained manner through the promotion of internationalization, the attraction of local and foreign private investments in Santa Fe and the promotion of international cooperation for economic-productive development and innovation.

Governor Maximiliano Pullaro attended the relaunching of Santa Fe Global in a ceremony held at the New River Terminal in Rosario, which was also attended by Vice Governor Gisela Scaglia, the Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini; the Secretary of Foreign Trade, Georgina Losada; national and provincial legislators; mayors and community presidents; and representatives of intermediate institutions.

Ratifying the course
Minister Puccini, in the presentation, gave a conceptual framework of the relaunching: "We want to confirm and ratify the course of the Ministry of Productive Development, which has to do with our view on international trade, which we have always put as a north to work. Santa Fe Global appears as a space to which we wanted to give a new focus, revalue and give it hierarchy, that is why we have placed it above all the other secretariats and with a transversal and global look that it has to have not only from the Ministry, but also with other areas of the Government".

In this sense, he recalled: “Our power is already installed with 750 industries that export, and these are our main partners, and they have to help us to drive, to take others to this new world, to open new markets, to bring new suppliers, and there we will find in different towns and cities many companies that need a boost".

"Being in international trade is fundamental for our province - Puccini assured - because it will allow us to invest, innovate, settle and use technology. That is why it is good that 60 days after we have started our administration we are all here, because if the government of the province of Santa Fe joins efforts and articulates the productive sector, with the private world, and we work strongly with public policies of continuity, in roads, energy and connectivity infrastructure, we will be able to double our exports, which is what we seek as a Province, because we are convinced that we must export to grow, we must innovate, and that is the greatest strength and the greatest challenge we have".

Who we are
The Secretary of Foreign Trade, Georgina Losada, gave a statistical overview that shows the need for an initiative such as Santa Fe Global. "The first step of Santa Fe Global is to present to the world who we are, what we produce, and how we produce it". She added, "It is important to develop and link science with production to have an exportable offer that is really in line with the demands of international markets".

She also pointed out that "Santa Fe is the second exporting province in the country, representing 22% of total exports, Greater Rosario is the second new international port after the port of New Orleans, in the United States, and we have two airports, 25 ports and a free trade zone in Villa Constitución".

“The six main destinations of Santa Fe exports are India, Brazil, the Netherlands, China, Vietnam and Indonesia, and 70% of exports are of agricultural origin and almost 15% are manufactured goods of industrial origin, so we have the great challenge of enhancing our industrial sector," added Losada.

Finally, the Secretary announced, "In September we are going to organize a large reverse business round that will allow international buyers to link with the cities where they buy and visit the companies to know first-hand what and how they produce".
