As part of the Expoagro 2024 mega-exhibition, the government of Santa Fe held the conference "Ports and their connection with the world", with the aim of highlighting the potential of the provincial port infrastructure and its role in global trade.

On the occasion, the Secretary of Transportation and Logistics, Renata Ghilotti, reviewed the main objectives of the administration of Governor Maximiliano Pullaro and the Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini, in this area: "We have the political decision to provide all the resources to incorporate more and more Santa Fe companies to international markets and increase the logistics capacity of its productive infrastructure," she said.

Likewise, the official highlighted the logistic and geographical capabilities offered by the port network and highlighted the salient points: "Our province enjoys a privileged geographical condition for the development of river trade. Its 849 kilometers of coastline on the trunk route of the Paraná-Paraguay waterway, turn this territory into a strategic destination for productive investments and to be the connection channel between the productive hinterland and the outside world."

"Santa Fe complements its competitive advantages with an infrastructure that is up to today's challenges. Its four ports strategically located along the Paraná coast offer logistic solutions to exporting companies throughout the region," Ghilotti added.

"This kind of meetings allow us to value and detail each of the strengths of the four Santa Fe ports and also to show how we have been working to enhance the productive heart of Santa Fe, positioning our province as the engine of Argentina", concluded the Secretary of Transportation.

In turn, the president of Ente Administrador Puerto Santa Fe (Santa Fe Port Authority), Daniel Cura, remarked that "our port works daily in honor of those people who projected it more than 100 years ago. Our importance lies in the fact that we are in the heart of the waterway. We always maintain that production must go through Santa Fe port and we work actively in this sense. Nowadays, we have more facilities and technologies to achieve this".

Meanwhile, Graciela Alabarce, president of the Rosario Port Authority (Enapro), said that "Expoagro allows to share with all the productive team of Santa Fe the logistic scheme that includes ports, airports and the sub-fluvial tunnel. A teamwork is being managed that will be decisive for the growth of production and the region. The outflow of products from Santa Fe and other regions that depend on our ports will be boosted thanks to the preparation of these public ports".

On the other hand, the legal advisor of the Ente Administrador Puerto Reconquista (Reconquista Port Authority), Aylen Cusit, expressed her satisfaction "for being able to participate in a mega-show such as Expo 2024. Summoned by the province, we have the great challenge of developing the public entities of the whole territory".

Then, the director of the Ente Administrador del Puerto de Villa Constitución (Villa Constitución Port Authority), Griselda Caffaratti, remarked that "it is the first time that the ports of the province are summoned to this important instance with the aim of exchanging experiences and realities of each one of our ports".

The provincial delegation also included the province's Undersecretary of Transport and Logistics, Mónica Alvarado.

Santa Fe Ports

The hydrographic system of the province of Santa Fe is the most extensive in the country. The Santa Fe iver front represents a third of the total extension of the Paraná-Paraguay waterway and more than 75% of the cereals and oilseeds exported from the country are exported through this section. On this waterway, Santa Fe has one of the most important port systems in Latin America for overseas vessels, consisting of four public ports.
