Pullaro pointed out that the provincial government is an ally and strategic partner of the metallurgical sector.

Industrial entities presented the Integrated Metallurgical Plan to the Governor. The parties highlighted the importance of the sector in maintaining and promoting exports and job creation.

The Governor of Santa Fe, Maximiliano Pullaro, participated in a meeting with representatives of industrial associations, with whom he discussed the current situation of the sector and its importance in the increase of exports with high added value.

During the meeting, which was held at the Sauce Viejo Industrial Park, the businessmen presented to the Governor the "Integral Metallurgical Plan", which aims to boost the sector through renewal and reinvestment actions focused on a pro-competitive national tax reform, orderly sub-national taxation, improvement of tax administration, and increased formalization of the economy to reduce the tax burden of the formal sector of the economy.

Pullaro expressed interest in knowing the industry's needs to grow in the province and pledged to work together to develop the metallurgical industry. "Santa Fe is clear about our DNA, where we stand, what our identity is and what we are going to defend. That is why they feel that they have an ally in the provincial government, a strategic partner with whom they will talk, to whom they will explain each of their problems and that we will work together to solve them. This is the government of Santa Fe, a government that listens, that dialogues, that studies and develops public policies in depth, and that understands the articulation of the private sector and the public sector as a virtuous circle. It is from this place that we will move forward.

Meanwhile, the President of the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists of the Argentine Republic (Adimra), Elio del Re, said that "we have been able to present our Strategic Metallurgical Plan. The province is very important from a metallurgical point of view and these are opportunities to continue working, the plan is alive and in constant transformation and we must continue to build together".

Expansion of the industry

During the meeting, the Governor and del Re agreed on the importance that the sector has at national and provincial level, in supporting and strengthening international markets, highlighting that it produces 30% of the local industrial GDP, generating 4 out of 10 industrial jobs, reaching 50 thousand jobs.

The authorities noted that the development of the productive sectors, together with the growth of the other sectors of the economy, will imply an increase in demand, which will allow the metallurgical industry to expand, generating an impact on the economy and the creation of new jobs.

In this regard, they pointed out that the challenges facing the industry should focus on decarbonization, competitiveness, financing, prioritizing value chains and promoting exports. They also highlighted the central role of Industry 4.0, which requires progress in digitalization with competitiveness, a strategy that is part of most developed countries and essential for the progress of the industry.

Looking ahead

For his part, the Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini, thanked Adimra for choosing Santa Fe "to make this presentation of the National Metallurgical Plan, which is very important for us as a province because it is the second productive complex of the province, it is an enormous potential that we have. We must take care of it and work together for what it represents: there are human resources, there is talent, there is innovation, and basically there is a future".

Finally, the president of the Chamber of Metallurgical and Autoparts Industrialists of Santa Fe (Camsfe), Cristian Fiereder, said that "today we have come to propose and try to have a strategy on how we see the development picture, how to create jobs, how to continue positioning Santa Fe as an industrial engine, as well as different ways to correct asymmetries in our province".
