In just the first half of the month, Santa Fe saw over 100,000 tourists, resulting in an economic turnover of $50.8 billion

The Provincial Tourism Observatory reported 68% average hotel occupancy in early January.

During the first half of January, tourism generated 50.819 billion pesos, with more than 100,700 tourists visiting the riverside areas, cities and popular festivals of Santa Fe, according to data provided by the Provincial Tourism Observatory.

In this regard, the Provincial Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini, highlighted that tourists "choose Rosario, Santa Fe and come to enjoy our festivals, which reflect the identity of Santa Fe. This is a source of pride, but it is also the result of the work we have been doing since we took office to improve security in large cities and to promote tourism in Santa Fe, which had been neglected for years".

"We are strongly committed to improving road infrastructure and generating connections by promoting our international airports," said the minister, adding that "the remodelling of Rosario International Airport and the addition of destinations and frequencies are boosting the arrival of foreigners to our province".

Tourism figures

The report details that average hotel occupancy was 68% across the territory, and 82.5% in the resorts and cabins on the Paraná, Carcarañá and Lagunas rivers, which recorded a peak of 89% between 9 and 11 January. These figures reflect a sustained trend since the end of 2025, when they operated at full capacity.

In addition, tourists spent more than 4.05 billion on accommodation and more than 26 billion pesos on recreation. Meanwhile, the economic impact of non-overnight visitors was more than $20 billion.

The data demonstrates the joint effort between the public and private sectors to sustain and promote tourism in the province of Santa Fe, with events that strengthen the cultural identity of Santa Fe's towns and boost local economies.

Popular festivals: local tourism

As part of the strategy designed by the Provincial Government, through the Secretariat of Tourism, to promote local tourism, popular festivals and cultural events were consolidated during January, attracting more than 250,000 people, both locals and tourists, transforming the province of Santa Fe into an attractive destination for visitors.

The 40th Provincial Fisherman's Festival in Sauce Viejo was attended by almost 30,000 people, who gathered in the town as an epicentre of popular music and a reference point for lovers of folklore and local traditions.
