In recent years, Santa Fe has established a strong presence in international markets thanks to the quality and diversity of its productive sector. Grains, meat, food, beverages and manufactured goods have put the province on the global map. Today, that same potential is making a strong impact within Argentina, particularly in the energy sector.
Although not an oil-producing province, Santa Fe’s industry has demonstrated its competitiveness in meeting the demands of the hydrocarbon sector, supplying highly complex goods and services. Within this framework, more than 350 companies from the province are already involved as suppliers in Vaca Muerta, in the province of Neuquén, coordinated through the Santa Fe Gas, Oil and Mining Board. This body is key to forging strategic links, promoting knowledge transfer and strengthening the sector’s business intelligence.
The sustained growth of this productive integration has been matched by institutional action with the recent signing of a strategic agreement between the governments of Santa Fe and Neuquén, through Maximiliano Pullaro and Rolando Figueroa. The agreement drives industrial integration between the two provinces, promotes investment and consolidates a cooperation framework that enhances Santa Fe’s participation in the country’s energy development.
Establishing presence in Patagonia

A concrete example of this process is the Rosario-based developer ZLT, which opened the Vaca Muerta Industrial Park (PIVM) in Añelo, a key hub for energy production. This strategic hub, funded by capital from Santa Fe, facilitates the establishment of businesses and improves operational logistics at the heart of the field.
The firm’s director, Gino Zavanella, highlighted the value of this collaboration: “The Park demonstrates the productive integration between companies from Santa Fe and Neuquén, and our ability to adapt and integrate into the Vaca Muerta value chain. It is clear proof that working together works and generates concrete results”.
The company’s director, Alejandro Taborda, explained: “We are making progress with our facility in Neuquén to operate close to Vaca Muerta, optimise response times and strengthen our maintenance service, as well as training local technicians. Our aim is to support the growth of activity in the region more efficiently, and we particularly appreciate the support of the Government of Santa Fe in taking this strategic step”.
These cases reflect a well-established trend: industry in Santa Fe is expanding its scale and becoming part of one of the most dynamic sectors of the Argentine economy. Through investment, innovation and institutional cooperation, Santa Fe is strengthening its position as a key player in the national energy sector.
He also highlighted the role of the sectoral committee: “It is a key forum for networking and gaining support. We are making the Park available to all companies from Santa Fe seeking to improve their logistics, boost competitiveness and access new opportunities in Vaca Muerta”.
Another notable example is Facorsa, a company with almost 70 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of cooling systems for industrial engines and heavy machinery, which is making progress with its relocation to Neuquén.
